Curiosity can be urgent and trivial. Some questions have kind of impatient compulsion—right up until the moment we get the answer. Once the curiosity is satisfied, the question deflates. In some cases, satisfying curiosity can unleash more curiosity. Discovering the human genome opened up many more pathways for research.
